𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲
Deep Blue is a feature-length drama from Antigua and Barbuda that weaves together a compelling love story with the urgent issues of environmental activism and land rights in the Caribbean. When the architect leading a proposed luxury resort development on a small island falls in love with a Canadian marine biologist determined to stop the project, a powerful conflict unfolds. Their relationship becomes entangled in a larger struggle between developers and a close-knit fishing community fighting to protect both their traditional way of life and a fragile marine ecosystem. As climate change places increasing pressure on the island, the stakes grow ever higher, forcing the couple onto opposing sides of a battle over the future of the community. Featuring a cast from Antigua, Canada, and England, Deep Blue shines a light on the challenges Caribbean communities face in resisting large-scale developments that threaten the ecological and cultural integrity of their islands.
